James is a London man dealing with a run of bad romantic luck that has seen promising beginnings turn into awkward endings. His latest relationship seemed to be the most promising of all until it went over a cliff. And all of the women were blonde.

Julie is a serious young woman writing her post-doctoral dissertation on contemporary male mating habits. As part of her research, she studies men's online dating profiles. She isn't looking to date anyone. In fact, Dr. Julie is rather skeptical about the whole business.

When the dark clouds of post-break-up despair convince James that another blonde would be asking for trouble, he changes his online dating profile to say "No More Blondes." This catches Dr. Julie’s eye. Does someone really believe that hair color can achieve mating security? Could she have found the ideal moron? Intrigued, Julie decides that she should meet this pathetic loser (surely) and get his story. The catch is that Julie herself is a blonde. Well, her theatrical flatmate does have some brunette wigs, surely one cup of tea with “Miss Sara” can’t hurt, can it?
